Enhancing Trails of the Sierra Foothills

Mission

MLTS is a non-profit, advocacy and action association that brings together local trail users to support and improve trails and trail systems.  Our mission is: to create, enhance, promote and preserve trails and trail experiences for all recreational users in and around El Dorado County, and to create a trail-friendly community through awareness, safety, and advocacy.

The MLTS strives to preserve, protect, and promote trail access and diverse trail-based recreation riding opportunities on California’s public and private lands through education, communication, and unified action.

The MLTS also seeks to promote and enhance the region of El Dorado County as a destination for world-class trails and to connect towns and community centers to trail systems to promote a healthy, active lifestyle and support the local economy.

Join Mother Lode Trail Stewardship!

As of February 2020, you can now join MLTS as a chapter of IMBA Local and help support trail maintenance, development, and advocacy in and around El Dorado County! Visit the IMBA Local site to sign-up. Once you’re signed up, we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop about projects and events in the area, on-going trail work, members meetings, and other related information. Your membership is super important to us, especially now in the early stages of the group’s development, and we will be sure to express our gratitude to the people who are helping us make it happen!

Donate to MLTS

In addition to membership, you can also support El Dorado County’s trail advocacy group through direct donations. This support keeps our all-volunteer organization moving to build and maintain quality trails for the community.
